Dudley Advocacy calling for volunteers

Can you help support people with a learning disability to make sure their views and concerns are listened to and respected? Dudley Advocacy has been successful in securing funding from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Programmes. The money will be used to provide additional advocacy support for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities, including parents with a learning disability whose children are subject to child protection plans. Dudley Advocacy’s volunteer project ‘Advocacy Extra’ recruits, trains and supports volunteers to act as Advocates, who work in partnership with vulnerable people across a range of health and social care issues. Volunteers can help in a variety of ways – from making phone calls, supporting people at meetings, pursuing complaints or finding out information on behalf of the person they are supporting and be someone for them to talk to in confidence. If you can do any of the above and would like to make a positive contribution to your local community then please contact Sean Ledington on 01384 456877 for an informal chat, or via email at sean@dudleyadvocacy.org. Experience not needed as full training and support is given. Full information is also available on our website at www.dudleyadvocacy .org...
