This is part of the 2016 National Laughter Week where events will be taking place all over the UK, culminating in a conference and festival on 10 to 12 June at Cabourne Parva in North Lincolnshire. See the following links and have attached the poster for LaughBirmingham: http://www.uklaugh.org http://laughtertime.co.uk/laughter-festival/ http://www.merriemaggie.co.uk/laughbirmingham-laughterflashmob/ Maggie has been working in collaboration with a journalism student from Staffordshire University – Niamh Conway-Carroll who has completed her thesis by creating a video documentary about the benefits of Laughter Yoga. She and her fellow student Hannah attended two Merrie Maggie Laughter Club sessions – one in Wordsley and the other in Malvern gathering the video footage and comments from participants to create this 7-minute video. One of their students for the Certified Laughter Yoga Leader training co-led the Malvern session with Maggie, giving her a good practice opportunity to boost her confidence. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLJw_BgdNpE&feature=youtu.be This leads them nicely into the dates for the next Certified Laughter Yoga Leader 2-day training that will take place on the weekend of 16 and 17 July at Wordsley Community Centre, The Green, Wordsley, Stourbridge, DY8 5BN. Maggie has attached the information leaflet for this training. Finally, If you want to find out what a Laughter Yoga event is like to attend, Maggie’s next session at Wordsley Community centre will be on Monday, 13 June 2016 from 7.00 pm. For people with autism and/or a learning disabilities the brain develops differently, leading to a difference in behaviour which can be difficult for themselves and others to manage. In this issue we offer information for parents and carers to help understand how the brain operates, and how we can use this knowledge to help people with developmental difficulties to acquire more adaptive ways of thinking. Read more by clicking the link below and please feel free to forward this information to anyone who you feel will benefit from it. Read help sheet about ‘Understanding Emotions’...
