The government has postponed the ‘capped cost’ reforms to care funding in England until April 2020.  Following this announcement, social care campaigners have questioned whether the ‘capped cost’ reforms will be postponed again before 2020, or scrapped completely.  This report explores the options for the government in rebooting the capped cost reforms, arguing that the current pause in implementation presents an opportunity to adapt the reforms to developments in health and social care policy, and address potential downsides to the ‘capped cost’ model, such as the risk of unintended consequences. Healthy Footsteps Summer Programme

Dear LEAP Over 50 Supports Please find attached the summer programme for Healthy Footsteps. LEAP Over 50 have a couple of Walks with a Difference on this programme.  One in July, which is the much asked for Picture Safari and the second being in September, though details are to be confirmed.  A poster will be released as soon as details are available.  If you would like to join the walks, please book a place as soon as possible, places are soon filling up. Some of you may be aware that throughout the Dudley Borough many people are being hit by funding cuts.  Unfortunately LEAP and Age UK Dudley will be hit hard.  So you will see in the centre of the leaflet that they are starting to think of fundraising ideas to help keep the project running.  If you have any ideas or would like to raise money for them, please do let them know.  Over the coming months they will keep you updated to what is going on. Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone that you think may be interested in the walk or anything else that LEAP offer.
