If you want to learn more about the links between mental health and behaviour, join Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust on Thursday 8 December for an educational event. The Mental Health Forum will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about the support available for those experiencing mental illness in the criminal justice system, as they dispel the myths around mental health and crime. A session will also be held on mental health first aid.  Attendees will have the opportunity to find out more about local services, ask questions and network with local organisations. Age Concern Christmas Event

Age Concern Stourbridge & Halesowen intend to have a ‘crafty’ time at their Christmas coffee and craft morning. The event, being held on Friday 2 December from 10.30 am at Age Concern, The Elton Centre at St John’s, St John’s Road, Stourbridge, DY8 1EJ is to help raise awareness of the services available at this centre, while raising money to support their activities. The Christmas craft & coffee morning, which is free to attend, will enable visitors to purchase handmade items, see original crafts being made and be able to view the charity’s Elton Centre facilities.  Members of the Age Concern craft and art classes will also be available to talk to people interested in joining their groups. The Black Country Wench, Marlene, will also entertain throughout the morning with her unique comedy and take on Black Country life. Press Release: A shop that is rolling back memories! A shop that is set in the past is proving to be a huge success for helping people to bring back forgotten memories. Mindful Gifts CIC opened their shop exactly one year ago in Church Street, Darlaston and has proven to be as huge success in provoking visitors to tell their stories whilst they see many items they have not seen for a long period of time! The 1950s themed shop contains a traditional sweet shop, grocery stores, living room, scullery and flea market. Not only is there a lots of items to look at, there are also gift ideas and customers can enjoy a cup of tea and cake served out of best china!   Founder, Vicki Phipps said “Mindful Gifts CIC specialises in dementia. However, the shop is not just benefitting people with memory problems, as most people will remember something in the shop they had originally forgotten about.
