Focus group on End of Life

Please see below article for your informtaion. Focus group on End of Life Why do we find talking about death and dying so hard to talk about when it’s part of living and everyday life? Here in Dudley, we would like to explore some of the perceptions around death and the words we use or don’t like to use. What does a perfect death look like and how do we recognise death.  We don’t want to steer clear of important conversations – we want to talk. Join our focus group and hear from Dr Lucy Martin, Macmillan GP and Clinical Lead for End of Life & Cancer at Dudley CCG about changes happening in Dudley and how your views can help make a difference. Our session will take place on Wednesday 16th May at 1030am until 1230pm at a local venue in Brierley Hill. Places will be limited so please make sure you get in touch and book your place. For further information or if you have any questions or to book, please contact Helen on 01384 321719 or email h.codd@nhs.net Many...

World Laughter Day and forthcoming training

Please see below email for your information. Hi Everyone There is just over one week to go to World Laughter Day on Sunday, 6 May 2018 when I shall run two FREE Laughter Yoga sessions by the Hub Building (next to the children’s playground) at Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge, DY8 2AA.  This is when people all around the world laugh on the first Sunday in May ‘ laugh to promote World Peace’.  Both sessions will last for one hour, the first session will be from 11.00 am and the second from 2.00 pm.  Hopefully we shall be able to run the sessions outside but have the use of the Hub Building if the weather turns against us. There are regular monthly Laughter Yoga club sessions at Wordsley( Stourbridge), Dudley and Halesowen.  I also run a session in Malvern too.  Details of venues, dates and times can be found at: http://www.merriemaggie.co.uk/laughter-yoga-sessions/ For anyone wanting to learn more about Laughter Yoga for their own personal development or to lead sessions of their own, I shall be running another 2-day Certified Laughter Yoga Leader training over the weekend of 14 and 15 July 2018 at Wordsley Community Centre, The Green, Wordsley, Stourbridge, DY8 5BN.  I have attached the information leaflet along with a booking form.  The training goes deeper into the philosophy, benefits and research findings  of Laughter Yoga and, following laughter session practices there will be both a written and practical assignment in order to gain the qualification. On 12 April 2018, ITV’s Tonight programme showed the ‘OAP Bootcamp’ documentary regarding finding activities for older people to do in order to combat loneliness, physical activity and health eating.  It also included Laughter Yoga around 20-minutes into the half hour programme.  If you haven’t seen it, go to the ITV Hub where it can still be viewed until around 11 May.  Here is the link: https://www.itv.com/hub/tonight/1a2803a1097 Finally, I am aware of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) coming into force in May and am in the process of getting my administration prepared for it.  If you are happy to continue to receive regular updates from me about Laughter Yoga evens and training, please click the following link to subscribe to emails from me: http://www.merriemaggie.co.uk/subscribe/ World Laughter Day 2018 – poster July 2018 Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Training – Info July 2018 – CLYL Training Booking Form Many thanks and Merrie Giggles Maggie Thompson Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher and Laughter Ambassador maggiet1951@googlemail.com 07565...
