First Chair of Healthwatch Dudley announced

The first Chair of health and social care consumer champion, Healthwatch Dudley has been announced as Pam Bradbury.
Healthwatch Dudley makes sure that the views and experiences of local people are heard to improve health and social care services, the organisation also provides an information and signposting helpline.
Pam Bradbury brings almost 40 years of experience as a nurse, manager and leader in the NHS and as a professional advisor within the Department of Health.
Healthwatch Dudley was set up in April 2013 and Pam will join fellow board members Maria Bailey, Karen Bridgewater, Karen Garry, Tom Hayden, Sally Huband, Joseph Janjua and Bill Weston.
Pam Bradbury said: “I am excited about ensuring that local people have a strong and influential voice as important decisions are made about health and well-being. It is essential that local views and experiences are taken into account in the planning of local health and social care services and I believe that the skills and experience I bring to Healthwatch Dudley will ensure that this happens.”
Jayne Emery, Healthwatch Dudley Chief Officer added, “Our staff team and volunteers are looking forward to working with Pam and our new board to make sure that everyone, especially people who don’t always shout the loudest, have the strong and powerful voice they deserve.”
Healthwatch Dudley sits under the umbrella of local voluntary sector support charity Dudley CVS. The information it gathers is fed back locally to improve health and social care services and nationally to Healthwatch England, which links together the 152 government-funded local Healthwatch organisations across England. Healthwatch England is part of the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator for health and social care.
