Dudley Council

Staff, providers, stakeholders and local people are invited to a series of ‘Care Act in a nutshell’ workshops that will look in detail how the Care Act will be implemented in Dudley.

The Care Act will become law in April 2015 and will change the law relating to care and support for adults and the law relating to support for carers.

The law will bring about the most significant changes to care and support services in more than 60 years and will create a system that will make it clear what kind of care people should expect.

Most importantly it will put people and their carers in control of their care and support and for the first time will put a limit on the amount anyone will have to pay towards the cost of their care.

The workshops are being hosted by Dudley Council, in partnership with Healthwatch Dudley and a range of key agencies and voluntary and community sector partners. who will act as joint hosts for each of the workshops.HW_Dudley_A4crop
