How can we prevent homelessness in Dudley? We need your views on our approach

The draft Dudley Homeless Prevention Strategy is now available to view on the council’s Community Engagement database.

We are seeking comments on the approach to tackle homelessness in Dudley.

Deadline for feedback is 14 December 2013 – send your responses to joanne.forbes@dudley.gov.uk

There are lots of reasons for people becoming homeless and the roomtax has just added to it, solving the problem will take money, homeless people want a roof over there head a safe place to live a place that gives them an address so can start getting JSA and start rebuilding there life. to do this Councils/Organisations need to buy properies and employ staff ( old hotels student accom ) those sort of places with 24/7 staff to keep residents safe and secure.. thats what is needed but thats not what will happen what will happen is lots of talk lots of we have enought hostels ( we dont ) and another winter when nothink gets done…..to solve homeless you have to spend money ,, but theres no money to spend so no change
