Joseph Rowntree Foundation Care Home Enquiry
Director of Care Services, John Kennedy at the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust has carried out an inquiry to discover how to address issues in UK care homes for older people.
The final report calls for change to ‘inject humanity’ back into care homes, with personal relationships put at the heart of how they are run and regulated. The inquiry argues human relationships and caring needs to be central to the system and the sector – replacing the impersonal and insecure culture that currently shrouds the whole care environment.
