My Life, My Way, My Choice.

The Face of Personalised Support in Dudley

Do you have someone to help you with shopping, cooking, paying bills and going out to places? Do you get money from Dudley Council to help get the support you need? This is called a Direct Payment and is money provided to you by the Council so that you can get the help you need.  With a direct payment you can ask someone that you know and trust to help you to do the things that you need help with or you can advertise to find a suitable person to provide the help you need.  In each case you would employ someone who would become your personal assistant.  You can also choose to use the money in another way such as getting help from a care agency / care provider.  Whether you employ a personal assistant, use a care agency or use the money in another way we would like to hear from you.

We want to find out what people think and feel about direct payments so we are inviting local people to have their say at an event.  Book

your place at the “My Life, My Way, My Choice” event for people who employ personal assistants, people who work as a personal assistant and people who use a care agency or use money from the Council to get the support they need in another way.

“We would like to ask you to help to improve the way that you get help to make life easier and more enjoyable for you and for all people that need support in Dudley.”
