Dudley borough libraries are launching a new collection of books and resources for people with dementia and those who care for them.

The Reading Agency has worked with healthcare experts, people with dementia and carer groups to select 25 ‘books on prescription’ titles that provide support and advice.

Copies of these books are now available at all 13 borough libraries and are being promoted to celebrate national Dementia Awareness Week which runs from May 18-24.

Special events will take place during the week at Dudley Library on May 19 and Halesowen Library on May 21 between 10am and 3pm.

There will be information stands, shared reading sessions and free taster sessions to support people with dementia provided by Adult and Community Learning and Age UK Dudley.

Between 10 and 11am at both events, there will be free dementia awareness sessions and invitations for people to become Dementia Friends. To book your place please contact Sue Harper or Cara Evans on 01384 818360 or 01384 815555.
