Variation in quality of care for people living with dementia – CQC news

 CQC’s major review of dementia care found an unacceptable gap in the quality of care for someone living with dementia. The Care Quality Commission inspected care in 129 care homes and 20 hospitals across England, looking at four areas: 1) how people’s care needs were assessed; 2) how care was planned and delivered; 3) how providers worked together and 4) how the quality of care was monitored. We found that it is likely that someone living with dementia will experience poor care as they move between care homes and hospitals. Read more here…
