A concert with music from WW1 including a specially commissioned work by Bob Birch (this will be its première) including songs well-known from the era.

The audience is invited to wear Edwardian or military dress and will be encouraged to join in.

There will be slides to illustrate different aspects of the War in this area (and we are indebted to The Black Country Bugle and The Scout Association for permission to use some of their photographs), various readings, some by or about local people, songs from the trenches, music hall songs, a commissioned work from a local composer

There will be displays about life in the Black Country before and during the Great War and a wall of poppies made by Wollaston Guides which can be viewed during the interval.

This event is about how the Black Country went to war for our future.
