Dance for Dignity Conga

On Thursday 26 October, there will be a Dance for Dignity Conga in Dudley Town Centre to raise funds for The Dignity 4 Dudley Campaign and the National Dignity Council. Dudley Centre for Inclusive Living (CIL) will be running a Dignity Information Pop Up in the Churchill Centre from 10.30am – 1.30pm, where you can sign up to become a dignity champion and find out more about the campaign. Children can enter the kindness drawing competition, where a small prize will be given to the winner plus a lucky dip for all those who enter the competition. The Dignity 4 Dudley campaign would like to thank London and Cambridge properties for the very kind use of one of their vacant shop units. At 12.30pm the group will congregate at the Duncan Edwards Statue at the end of Dudley Marketplace to take part in a conga; Dudley’s Dance for Dignity. We shall be joined at this event by Mrs Jan Burns, Chair of the National Dignity Council, and also by His Worshipful the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler. The Dignity 4 Dudley campaign is a partnership between Dudley CIL, Dudley Voices for Choice and Disability in Action Dudley, with support from Dudley Council and Healthwatch Dudley. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of dignity and respect. Last year we collected the views of many people across Dudley on what dignity means to them, and will be collating this into a dignity charter that local people can be proud of.
