Rough Sleepers Estimate

Dudley MBC will be conducting a rough sleepers estimate on Wednesday 22nd November. We are required to report the number of rough sleepers to the Government. As a resident, you can help us to make the estimate as accurate as possible. If you are travelling within the Borough on the night of Wednesday 22nd November through to the early morning of Thursday 23rd November and you see somebody sleeping rough please report the description of the person and details of the location to Jo Forbes (joanne.forbes@dudley.gov.uk) or telephone 01384 815081 Please note that for the purposes of the Government’s estimate we can only record people who are: – sleeping in the open air (such as on the street, in tents, doorways, parks, bus shelters etc) – they must be bedded down or about to bed down (sitting on/in or standing next to their bedding). Do not report anybody who is walking around but may look as if they are sleeping rough. – people bedded down in buildings or other places not designed for habitation (such as stairwells, sheds, car parks, cars etc) You do not have to approach the rough sleeper. Report sightings to us and we will try to follow up any information that is provided. We will visit the site to see if we can help anyone that is identified. We will offer help and assistance whether they meet the Government’s definition or not. Thank...
