Friendships – what we think Adults, children and young people with a disability or aditional need have a right to develop friendships and enjoy a social life, just like anyone else. Friendships can help people feel happier, included and valued. They can also enhance wellbeing. Come together with other parent carers for an opportunity to reflect and talk about  how you feel about your young peoples friendships and  relationships with others. Watching them grow up and make their own decisions can be really hard. How can we have conversations that encourage their friendships and relationships to be meaningful and positive. Please see below information. Emergency Treatment Centre opens The brand new £2.6 million Emergency Treatment Centre opens at Russell Hall Hospital this week. The Emergency Treatment Centre is the umbrella name for the Emergency Department (ED) and the newly-built Urgent Treatment Centre (the new name for the UCC). All patients who arrive on foot will report to the new Urgent Treatment Centre nurse streaming desk. From there, they will be directed to the Urgent Treatment Centre reception desk or to the new Emergency Department reception desk, depending on clinical need. Having the two services side-by-side means patients won’t have as far to go for non-emergency care and staff will be able to work even more closely together to provide a seamless service. The new building has a new Urgent Treatment Centre waiting area and new ED waiting area. The ED waiting area has a smart television which will allow staff to keep patients up to date with waiting times. We will also be able to promote important public information.
