The Mayor’s Civic Awards is celebrating its twelfth year. The prestigious awards have proved a huge success over the past decade and Dudley Council is again looking to celebrate people who work tirelessly in the community.

Many people achieve great things or dedicate their time to helping others and much of this work goes unnoticed. However, through the annual Mayor’s Civic Awards we can celebrate their achievements.

The categories in full are:

  •  The Duncan Edwards award for sport
  • The Frank Foley award for community spirit
  • The Thomas Attwood award for education
  • The Cedric Hardwicke award for art
  • The William Shenstone award for environment
  • The Mike Holder award for business

Is there a person or group who you feel deserves one of these titles? This could be someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the community or who has set an inspiring example to others through their effort and determination. It may be someone you work closely with now or have worked with previously.

Should you know someone who fits this description, I hope you will put them forward for one of the civic awards.

You can nominate on line on the council’s website  and the closing date is Monday 9 February.
