Nordic walking group aims to promote health and wellbeing
Age UK Dudley has set up a Nordic group following two successful walking and wellbeing events.
The group will meet every Thursday, starting on June 4 at the Springboard Activity Centre, Units 44-47 Waterfront East, Level Street, Brierley Hill between 1.30 and 2.30pm (£4 per session).
The sessions will be a mixture of general fitness walks with strength, balance and relaxation exercises for all levels. The class will be both inside and outside, depending on the weather.
Please contact the Springboard team for further information on 01384 571830.
Age UK Dudley’s LEAP Over 50 project team wants to include Nordic walking in its Healthy Footsteps programme and is looking for volunteers to train so they can lead groups of clients throughout Dudley.
Travel expenses will be paid and LEAP offer ongoing support.
Other LEAP Over 50 volunteering opportunities include: walk leaders and support, cycling support riders, sport and administration support.
