Sing and Sign Choir gets praise at the Big Gig
A choir made up of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities performed to rapturous applause at a free music festival in Stourbridge last weekend (Saturday 12).

The Unicorn Sing and Sign Choir,made up of people who attend Dudley Council’s Unicorn Centre for people with learning disabilities, performed an interactive music set at the Big Gig at the Arena in Stourbridge.
Their performance involved singing and signing the ‘Love Train’, originally sung by the OJs and Pharrell Williams’ track ‘Happy’.
Councillor Dave Branwood, cabinet member responsible for adult social care said:
“The choir is an inspiration to us all. I am delighted that they have had an opportunity to showcase and celebrate their musical talents. I know they have been rehearsing for a while now at the Unicorn Centre and they should be immensely proud of their achievements.”
The choir was invited to sing at the free national music festival which was held locally at the Arena in Stourbridge and hosted by care providers’ Creative Support.
The Unicorn Centre is based at Brettell Lane, Stourbridge.
